Excursions among mountains, woods, alpine pastures and nature trails to discover Valsesia, Monte Rosa and other areas of Piedmont.

Trekking in Valsesia
and on Monte Rosa

Trekking among Monte Rosa, Valsesia and the landscapes of Piedmont

Trekking in Valsesia is the ideal way to experience the mountains authentically, surrounded by nature and accompanied by expert guides. Valsesia Sport organizes excursions on Monte Rosa, in upper and lower Valsesia, in the Biella valleys and in the Ossola valleys, offering routes of varying difficulty for different needs and levels.

The trails lead through woods, mule tracks, alpine pastures and the peaks of the Monte Rosa massif, which our guides will help you discover and appreciate during spring, summer and autumn trekking activities.

Tailor-made excursions and routes with overnight stays in mountain huts

Each excursion can be organized according to the physical condition of the participants, so as to offer an experience suited to the group and the desired route. On request, trekking can also include an overnight stay in a mountain hut within the regional parks.

Possible huts include Rifugio Ospizio Sottile, Rifugio Pastore and Rifugio Barba Ferrero, among others.

Food and wine trekking, Walser villages and themed routes

In addition to classic mountain routes, Valsesia Sport also organizes daily food and wine excursions among the Gattinara vineyards, discovering Piedmontese excellence such as Nebbiolo wine, Toma cheese and traditional cured meats such as mocetta. The excursion can be done on foot or by mountain bike.

Other itineraries can be organized among the Walser villages of Alagna and Riva Valdobbia, or in Rimella, considered the oldest documented Walser colony in Valsesia.

Valsesia Supervolcano Geosite and the Cadorna Line

Among the most distinctive proposals are visits to the Valsesia Supervolcano Geosite, a route starting from Dinelli (Scopetta) and reaching Prato Sesia on the left bank of the river, with the possibility of ending the day with Nebbiolo wine tastings in Gattinara.

Valsesia Sport also organizes excursions to the Cadorna Line in Val d’Ossola, a route suitable for schools and often combined with rafting on the Toce River. It is a historical itinerary with access tunnels, trench systems, machine-gun positions and Forte di Bara.
