Rafting in Valsesia on the Sesia River
Rafting in Valsesia for every level and need.
Experiencing rafting in Valsesia means discovering the Sesia River in an authentic, dynamic and engaging way, surrounded by nature and accompanied by expert and qualified guides. The descents take place between Piode and Varallo, from April to September, in one of the most fascinating settings in Piedmont for those looking for sport, fun and outdoor adrenaline.
With Valsesia Sport, every experience is designed to offer the right balance between excitement, safety and direct contact with the river. The activities adapt to different ages, levels and needs, allowing everyone to experience the Sesia in the most suitable way.
The Family routes are ideal for adults with children and teenagers, but also for those who want to have fun without overdoing it, enjoying the river in an exciting yet accessible way. The Adventure and Power routes, on the other hand, are dedicated to those looking for more energy, more adrenaline and a more intense experience, capable of making you feel the full force of the water and the rapids.
Rafting for groups, special occasions and technical briefing.
Rafting on the Sesia River is a perfect activity not only for those looking for adventure and fun, but also for anyone who wants to organise a special day to enjoy as a group. It is the ideal choice for bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, birthday parties, graduations and team building activities, with the option to choose a single experience or combine several activities on the same day or over multiple days.
To make the occasion even more engaging, you can also consider the #raftforyou option, designed to turn the descent into an even more memorable experience to share with friends, colleagues or adventure companions.
Before each descent, the guides hold a technical briefing to explain how the activity will take place, the main safety measures to be followed on the river and the basic techniques needed to tackle the descent correctly. Before departure, a short practical review is also carried out, to make sure everyone has understood the instructions and can enjoy the experience with greater awareness, confidence and team spirit.

River safety:
Valsesia Sport ASD is affiliated with the F.I.Raft – Italian Rafting Federation and all our instructors have achieved the highest IV/A licence level in their training pathway.
The instructors regularly attend the updates required by federal regulations.
To ensure maximum safety, every descent on the Sesia River with a difficulty higher than grade 2 includes the presence of at least 2 instructors. This means that, on a route with a difficulty higher than grade 2, even a crew of 4 people on a raft will always have 2 guides: 1 on board the raft and 1 instructor specialised in Safety Kayak.
All participants are covered by third-party liability insurance and have the option to add a personal accident insurance policy, at a cost of €5.00 per person.
Technical equipment provided:
Each crew member receives the following technical equipment:
- paddle
