River kayaking in Valsesia: for those looking for extra thrills
River kayaking in Valsesia is the ideal choice for those who want to experience the Sesia River in a more direct, technical and engaging way. The kayak differs from the Canadian canoe because it is paddled with a double-bladed paddle, allowing precise and dynamic control.
The Sesia is a perfect environment for learning and practicing this sport, alternating calm stretches for beginners with more dynamic sections and rapids of different intensity. This makes Valsesia a natural training ground for gradual progression.
For beginners, the experience starts with a kayak initiation lesson in calm water near the base, where the first notions of control, balance and correct paddle use are taught. Small groups allow each participant to learn safely and progressively.
Prices are per person. A good level of physical fitness is required, alcohol and drug use is prohibited and the maximum weight per person is 100 kg. If there is no second participant for the kayak course, a supplement may apply. The indicated activity times include registration, changing, theory, transport and descent.
Technical Note:
The lessons last 4 hours from check-in to check-out; the activity in the water will last 2 hours. The technical staff defines the routes according to seasonality and water level, in order to ensure maximum fun in safe conditions.
Recommended Clothing:
For river activities in spring, we recommend bringing a long-sleeved fleece or microfiber thermal layer, swimsuit, heavy or neoprene socks and trainers, avoiding tennis shoes with smooth soles. In summer, a synthetic sports shirt is recommended, along with swimsuit, socks, trainers with good soles.
Participants must bring everything needed for showering. Hairdryers are available in the changing rooms, while personal hairdryers are not allowed for safety reasons.
